A free reverse cell phone lookup is one thing that gets searched for a LOT online. A sad but popular reason for people wanting to do these reverse lookup searches is when someone suspects their husband or wife might be cheating on them or planning to cheat on them and they’ve located a phone number that they can identify as belonging to someone they know.

Have you ever been curious? Your wife is out for a jog or somewhere else and she leaves her cell phone unattended so you take a browse through it . You flip through all of the text messages and previous calls received or made. While having a browse, you notice a number that just doesn’t look familiar and it gets you curious as to who is calling your wife.

I’m sure we’d all like to think we could just ask our wives in this case who the number belongs to but let’s be realistic. If she’s sneaking around behind your back is she really going to just come out and say so just because you found a number in her phone? Not likely.

Most people in this situation would run off to the internet in hopes of typing the number in and having the owners info just show up on the screen. There are many sites that claim to allow you to do this for free. Getting the correct info you need can be easier said than done however. The major telecommunications companies closely guard this type of info and I doubt they’re nuts about the fact that it’s out there at all! You can rest assured that the free sites are not going to just give you the information.

Fear not, some private companies have stepped up to the plate and spent time maintaining and updating on a regular basis, a database that contains just about every cell number out there and associates it with a persons name, address, service provider, service status, and other extremely personal information. In some cases, you are even given a digital map which brings you right to the owner of the phones front door. I’m sure you can see how this type of data can be useful in certain situations.

Naturally, since it takes hours and hours to compile all of this data, it only seems reasonable that they’re going be charge something for it. The fee will be nominal, and if that’s all that’s standing between you and the truth, I think it’s a small price to pay.

The question that begs to be answered is “can a reverse cell phone search actually be done?” It’s a fair enough question. I mean, cell phones are tied down to an address like your basic landline home telephone so it seems realistic that with all these cell phones roaming around the globe, that it’s possible that databases do not exist that keep records of all of these phones and their numbers.
If you’ve been under the impression that a reverse cell phone directory does not exist, I’m afraid I’ve got to let you down and let you know that they definitely DO exist. A few years ago, this may not have been the case. The way privacy laws are structured and the lack of interest in cell phone providers like AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon for example, made keeping extensive cell phone directories very time consuming, laborious, and therefore, unappealing.

Thankfully we live in a world where “too much bother” for one person is just the right challenge for another person. These cell phone directories do in fact exist and are extremely handy if you happen to have a cell number kicking about who’s owner you can’t recall or if it happens to be a number belong to someone you need to identify.

You may ask “Why on earth would I have a cell phone number without knowing who the owner was?” The answer to that question might just get you riled up. I’d better save it for another post. Check on back and I’ll share the details

It seems many people are on the prowl for free reverse cell phone lookups these days. I know times are tough and money is tight for many, but when was the last time you got anything for free that was worth having?

In the world of reverse cell phone lookups, free is one surefire way to waste your time and get yourself all aggravated. The thing is that they lure you in with the word free and then pull the old bait and switch technique. You hop on the site thinking you’re going to perform a reverse number lookup, enter your number, and click search only to find a new page that say that the info has been located and you can buy it for $x.

Suppose that site turned out to be a paid site and then when you paid and got in, all it told you was the city that the cell phone number was registered in and maybe who the carrier or service provider was like Verizon, Sprint AT&T etc. I think you’d be pretty upset that you wasted your time and I really can’t blame you. It’s a shame that these sites are even able to operate.

Now let’s look at an alternative.

What if someone told you of a site that they knew about where you could punch in the cell number in question, click search, verify that they actually had the info in their database, pay your small fee for access and actually get details such as:

    * Phone owner name and current address
* Line type - landline or mobile
* Household members
* Phone company and carrier
* Possible neighbors and relatives
* Issuing location
* Satellite maps
* Other phone numbers belonging to owner
* Owner’s address history
* And more!

I would say that is more of a complete list that would give you bang for your buck wouldn’t you agree? There are many ways that our time gets wasted everyday. Don’t let chasing after a free reverse cell phone lookup be one of them.
